Shops and convenience stores
Cover the choke points first: the entrance at identify, every till at recognise, the stock room door, then the aisles. Mount heights are low and shelving is tall, so draw the shelves; they are what hides the theft.
From the drawing: identify rings on the door, blind-spot view across the aisles, a schedule the installer can price.

Warehouses, yards and depots
Long racking aisles, dock doors and a fenced perimeter. Corridor format pays for itself down the aisles; the yard is a tiling problem with longer lenses, and the perimeter is detection, often thermal, feeding alarms.
From the drawing: overlapping cones on the yard, cable runs back to the cabinet within 100 m, recorder retention sized from the camera count.

Commercial
Offices and multi-tenant buildings
Reception, lift lobbies, stairwells and the car park, rarely the desks. The work is in the doors: every way in watched at identify, with privacy zones kept off the open-plan floor.
From the drawing: a clean imported plan, identify coverage on every entry point, a live link the facilities manager can check.

Gates, entrances, corridors and the edges of the site, planned under public-sector procurement rules. Specifications increasingly call for NDAA compliance and for a documented rationale for every camera.
From the drawing: a camera schedule naming each maker, blind-spot proof for corridors, a signed-off print for the governors.

Car parks and gates
Plates at the barrier, people between the cars. A number-plate camera is a narrow lens at a shallow angle with a fast shutter; the rest of the car park is overview coverage from height.
From the drawing: the plate camera's narrow cone checked against the lane, overview cones from poles, cable and PoE budgets to each pole.

Residential
Homes and small properties
Four to eight cameras: the front door, the drive, the garden gates. The mistakes are mounting too high and trusting night vision past the IR range. The Free plan covers a home project end to end.
From the drawing: a plan traced from a photo or a satellite map, the blind strip under each camera, night ranges that are honest.
